to get together for your application
When
applying for a mortgage or remortgage lenders will require supporting
documentation to confirm aspects of the information on the form.
The following is a
guide of what is generally required so it would make sense to have
the main items ready before you apply fully.
Proof of address if not on voters roll.
Proof of current address dated within last 3 months will be required
in all cases.
Acceptable proof of address documents are
Utility bill (not mobile phone)
Credit card, bank or mortgage statements
Inland revenue statements or notices
Council Tax bill
Driving license and counterpart
Proof of identity is required in all cases and original documents
must be supplied. We send you a security envelope for this.
Acceptable proof of identity is
Passport
New style driving license with photo and counterpart
Old style driving license of not used for proof of address
If you do not have any of the above we may be able to arrange a Certificate
of Identity
for you.
Income
details are always required.
Last 3 months pay slips
Bank statements
are required sometimes
A valuation fee will be collected later in
the process. A credit card must be supplied for this.
References. We may have to take up the following references.
Employer
Landlord
IVA
Accountant
If the circumstances apply we will need the following documents
Bankruptcy discharge certificate
Current tax credits award documents
Second employer pay slips
Proof of self employment if you do not have an accountant
We carry out an affordability assessment based on our own
model plus the information you provide. This is so that we can see if you
are able to afford the mortgage you requested.
If you have a mortgage you will
be asked to provide a payment statement covering the last 12
months payments. It is quicker if you ask your current lender to
supply this.
There are some variations to the
above depending on the lender chosen but we do let you know
exactly what is required once you decide to go ahead with a full
application.
